New Service: Whole Child Coaching Collaboration for Autistic Families

April 6, 2018

Written By: Roni Enten Vissoker, M.Sc., C.N.S., L.D.N.

Spring is here! Always my favorite time of year to help families recharge their health and vitality and to recharge my own, as well. It’s also a perfect season for rebirth and new beginnings. This year, I am especially excited to be writing my very first blog for the Wholistic Pediatrics and Family Care community.

I may have met some of you when I worked as a nutrition educator many years ago in Dr. David’s South Florida offices; more recently, I have been lucky to continue to serve you remotely, offering my nutrition services from my office in Israel.

I want to take this opportunity to share my latest collaboration with the Wholistic Pediatrics and Family Care (WPFC) family, a unique service called Whole Child Coaching. The concept was developed by myself and Tali Berman, Autism specialist, who has been teaching and guiding families in the autism community since 1997. Tali is a long-time colleague, and we are very excited to have developed an integrative service that we can offer families. Our approach combines both therapeutic and biomedical interventions, which is the most powerful way to help a child grow and heal to his/her potential.

This combined approach allows us to support children by healing any underlying issues that are often the root of many of your child’s challenges. Simultaneously, we create clear goals and strategies to help them learn the skills necessary to grow in his/her communication, social and independent life skills.

The Whole Child integrative team also includes Patsy Giarda, Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and of course, Dr. David, both of whom offer extended biomedical support. The Whole Child Coaching package is a series of consultations completed over a four-month period. For the next two weeks, we’ve opened our Spring registration for this unique program, and we are thrilled to be able to offer it to WPFC families who are looking for an innovative way to work with a team of experienced practitioners to best optimize their child’s development.

Here’s a case study of a current Whole Child client who agreed to share their experience:

“When I learned about the ‘Whole Child’ package that Tali and Roni were offering, I knew it was the answer to my prayers. I felt lost, confused and frustrated as a parent before. Now, I know that we are on the right track on our journey. The changes Keira has made during our “Whole Child” package have been amazing! With Roni’s guidance, she went from pooping every 4-6 days and only with the help of a suppository to pooping independently almost every single day. She is falling asleep in half the time it used to take her and eating foods she never tried before (and begging for more).

With Tali’s guidance, she has learned to follow routines, take turns in games and finally enjoy play time with her sister. In fact, we have family play time almost every evening, and she loves it. Plus, Keira is much less aggressive with her younger sister. Pinching and screaming were a daily challenge in our home, and both of those behaviors are now gone completely!

The integrative approach that Tali and Roni utilize has been essential to optimizing Keira’s progress on our autism journey. Tali and Roni are very thorough, listen to all the details of my concerns and create strategies to problem solve right away. They are truly Keira’s angels.”

Happy Spring!

Roni is proud to have worked with hundreds of special needs families, providing individualized bio-nutritional support for autism/ASD and a variety of other conditions. Her personal mission is to help identify the underlying causes of symptoms and understand and harness the immense power of food and nutrition to help heal chronic conditions and support vitality.

Roni’s passion for holistic nutrition began in her youth when she entered the world of alternative health through her study of herbal medicine. Excited by the power that herbs and food have to heal, she left to study at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, the world’s leading academic center for natural health sciences.
